||BEDG was established in
1994. The main objective for which BEDG was established is to
create an enterprise culture in the community by encouraging
initiatives specifically geared towards supporting existing and new
enterprises. Maximising local and regional resources thereby expanding
opportunities for the unemployed, through the provision of support and
training facilities, to participate fully in the economy while
contributing to the maintenance and growth of viable sustainable jobs.
In 1994 BEDG employed a Manager, through funding from FÁS, to
provide advice and support to the unemployed seeking to set up small
enterprises in and around Balbriggan.
The Job Club service is
free of charge to job seekers to
aid them in their search for employment. Each session is two weeks
time, and will guide job seekers through their CV’s, letter writing and
interviews in preparation for securing work. The service is funded by
Department of Social Protection.
